The Fizik Saddle Guide

When it comes to memorable moments from across her MTB career, Miranda Miller has plenty to choose from. Recently, we sat down with the Canadian Downhill racer and filmmaker to learn which parts of her journey stand out the most—as well as which saddle she’s selected to enjoy each adventure with. Read our “Fit Talk” with this multi-talented, globe-trotting athlete below.

FIZIK What’s your favorite race/event? Any project/plan for the future?

MM I have been fortunate to travel all over the world while filming, ‘Here, There, Everywhere’, a film series I host and produce for SRAM. This season, I rode my bike in Namibia, Kenya, Bolivia, Wales and some brand new and beautiful places close to home here in North America. While hard to choose, the stand-out experience must have been meeting the Trail Building Cholitas in Bolivia and riding their trails at the base of some of the highest mountains in the Andes. Riding scree fields at 5200m or racing DH at 4600m will be an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

FIZIK Can you share with us an anecdote related to your career as a cyclist?

MM Many people would think that becoming a DH World Champion would be the proudest moment of my career, but I can say with absolute certainty that the last three years of creating, ‘Here, There, Everywhere’ and having the privilege to help tell all these incredible stories, from different aspects of cycling, has been what I am most proud of.

FIZIK Which is the saddle you’re currently using? And how did you choose it?

MM I have been using the Aidon on my Forbidden Dreadnought and my Transition Repeater eBike. I like the Aidon for the additional cushion and length when compared to the Alpaca. It’s not bulky and stays out of the way when I’m descending.

FIZIK Did you get support from a bike fitter? How often do you reconfirm or update your position/fit on the bike?

MM For my MTB, I don’t use a traditional bike fit, although for road and gravel I do, so I have some baseline knowledge I can work with. I’m lucky enough to get to ride all different brands of bikes through my program at SRAM, so each MTB is quite unique in how I set it up. With seat tube angles getting steeper on Enduro bikes, I’ve found it is important to have support and cushion under the sit bones as I seem to be more upright and forward in a climbing position.
